What is the easiest way to get around?
It depends on where you want to go, but for the most part, downtown Cincinnati is walk-able. We have developed a tip sheet for learning the streets and how they are named and numbered, which is available
here. If public transportation is more your style, you’ll find information about
Metro and Southbank Shuttle routes. Of course if you’re in a hurry, you can always
grab a taxi or rent a car to get you around the city on time. If you’re not looking to get anywhere fast though, a relaxing
carriage ride is a great way to see the sights of the city!
If I get lost downtown, is there someone who can help point me in the right direction?
Yes!
DCI’s Downtown Ambassadors are patrolling the streets on foot and bicycles every day. And, there is an ambassador assigned to Fountain Square 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Just look for the folks in bright orange shirts and khaki pants. Also, members of the Downtown Services Unit, the City of Cincinnati’s special complement of police officers assigned to the central business district are always around and are very knowledgeable. With the help of both the ambassadors and the police, you’ll never feel lost in downtown Cincinnati.
