Blue Oven Bakery

Mark and Sara Frommeyer founded Blue Oven in 2007 with a passion for creating something great that would carry on as a family tradition for years to come. Having come from families of cooks and food-lovers, Mark and Sara put their expertise to work and built a wood-fired oven on their back porch with blue tiles — their very own Blue Oven. The Frommeyers operated the bakery from their farm in Williamsburg, Ohio where they prioritized using their own homegrown ingredients. With quality artisan bread in high demand, they began attending farmers markets across the state, supplying to restaurants, mom n' pop grocery stores, and coffee shops, and moved into a permanent stand at Findlay Market. But in 2020, the farm's bakery suffered a massive fire, resulting in a total loss of the facilities. Since then, Blue Oven has weathered many storms to create a sustainable business. With the support of the community, our bakery has grown exponentially to become one of the most well-known and beloved in Cincinnati. In the spring of 2023, John Jarnigo and Will Vollmer became the current owners of Blue Oven. Their excitement for bread and business-savvy backgrounds have proved a great match for the bakery.
